Existe alguna manera de mejorar el rendimiento de nuestros entrenos de abdominales teniendo en cuenta el orden de los ejercicios? Pues la verdad que sí. Si dividimos nuestro abdomen en cuatro grandes porciones:Transverso abdominal y porción inferior del recto abdominal: Son los más débiles (por norma general) y trabajan mediante movimientos, por ejemplo, de retroversión pélvica.
Oblicuos (superior o inferior): Trabajan en movimientos de rotación del tronco y de flexión lateral del mismo. Además, también ayudan a la flexión "frontal" (hablando con más propiedad, en el plano sagital) cuando trabajan al unísono.
Porción superior del recto abdominal: Es el principal flexor del tronco, aunque también participa en menor medida en otros movimientos.
Otros grupos estabilizadores relacionados: Según Heredia (2.004) debemos tener en cuenta también el entrenamiento de otros músculos estabilizadores como pudieran ser lumbares y glúteo mayor.
Si observamos los mismos veremos que la parte del recto anterior del abdomen será la más fuerte y resistente al trabajo, seguida por los oblícuos y en última instancia por transverso y porción inferior. Si nuestro objetivo (insistimos que salvo casos muy aislados) es buscar un equilibrio entre los mismos, nos deberemos dirigir en primera instancia a estos grupos más débiles.Según estudios de la Universidad de Stanford (nombrados por Vigo) vemos que, además, hay músculos que también intervienen en movimientos propios de otros grupos.
Con todo ello, debemos orientar nuestro entrenamiento a comenzar con las zonas más débiles o de menor resistencia (en este caso, transverso) para ir pasando posteriormente hacia las más fuertes y resistentes (segundo lugar para oblicuos interno y externo y tercero para recto anterior).
